Christmas is upon us; another year is finally coming to an end, and what better way to celebrate than throwing an awesome Christmas party at the office! It’s a great way to show appreciation for your team and thank staff members for their work throughout the year while also having fun at the same time. So, instead of opting for the same traditional Christmas theme, why not try something a bit different.
Here are five fun themes you can incorporate in your upcoming office Christmas party.
Christmas Movie Marathon
From Home Alone to Bad Santa, The Grinch who Stole Christmas to Elf, the holiday season is rich with hilarious, heartwarming and beautiful movies. It’s an inexpensive way to throw an office party for everyone to enjoy. All that you will need is a TV (bonus points if you can find a projector), a couple of snacks, pizza, popcorn and beanbags.
The Ugly Sweater Christmas Party
You know these ugly winter sweaters you never wear, well, now is the time to take them out. So, instead of coming to the Christmas party wearing your best outfit, everyone will be instructed to wear their ugliest winter sweater. Anyone who won’t show up with a sweater will be given a spare sweater and maybe some kind of embarrassing prop to add to the outfit.
A Christmas Masquerade
For this theme, think theater masks, feathers and harlequin patterns. Perhaps for those who don’t have masks, you could set up a DIY mask-making station at one corner of the office. You could also set up a photo booth in another corner of the room with a box of Christmas props.
The Nightmare Before Christmas Party
A Christmas party with a dash of Tim Burton? Yes, please! Now you can make use of all the leftover decorations from Halloween. Decorate the office with skeletons and skulls in Santa hats, black and white tinsel, and maybe play some Halloween classic music, perhaps create a playlist with songs from the Tim Burton movie itself.
Christmas Costume Party
This party won’t be your typical costume party because it’s kind of like Halloween but instead, it’s for Christmas! It doesn’t get better than that. Obviously, for this party, costumes are a must! Maybe you can even throw a ‘Best Costume’ competition for the whole office and prizes include anything that is Christmas-themed.
For this year, I’m thinking about getting people to wear their ugliest sweaters to the office and also having a movie marathon, what about you?
