Egyptian-American Actor Rami Malek Wins Golden Globe for Bohemian Rhapsody

It was an extremely stacked lineup in the category for Best Actor in a Motion Picture-Drama at the 2019 Golden Globe Awards, but only one person reigned supreme.

Egyptian-American actor Rami Malek received a Golden Globe award Sunday night for his portrayal of Queen’s legendary frontman Freddie Mercury in the movie Bohemian Rhapsody.

Malek beat out a tight race with other very talented competitors. The nominees were Bradley Cooper in A Star Is Born, Willem Dafoe in At Eternity’s Gate, Lucas Hedges in Boy Erased and John David Washington in BlaKkKlansmen.

Egyptians everywhere around the world should feel very, very proud this morning for this beautiful win. Congratulations, Malek!
