According to Ahram Online, Egyptian Prime Minster Mostafa Madbouly has sat down with Apple CEO Tim Cook, to discuss direct investment opportunities in the Egyptian market. This news comes according to a statement made by the Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation.
Cook expressed Apple’s interest in investing in Egypt, adding that the company is examining possible areas of investment, also noting that there are an estimate 38,000 people from Egypt working in the area of iOS app development.
The Prime Minister shared the government’s ambitious plans of having Egypt become a hub for electronic industries in the Middle East whilst highlighting the popularity of Apple products in the Egyptian Market.
Madbouly also stated that the Egyptian government looks forward to having Apple invest directly in Egypt, highlighting that the electronics giant can find investment opportunities in the New Administrative Capital.
