Yesterday, Deputy Minister of Transportation Amr Shaat announced that Egypt will be submitting financial and technical offers on the 15th of March for the construction of a new high-speed railway, from Ain Sokhna to New El- Alamein City.
Moreover, he added that the Ministry has given the implementation process a period of 30 months, also highlighting that the railway will be dedicated to transporting goods and passengers.
According to the Minister of Transportation Hisham Arafat, many international companies are taking part in this new project, however names haven’t been revealed yet.
On another note, Egypt is also collaborating with China to construct a railway that links Cairo to the new Administrative Capital which is still under-construction.
