The Intern, you need to stop reading right now and go watch it. Why, you ask? It’s possibly the most inspiring moving that came out of 2015. The movie tells the story of Robert De Niro playing the role of a retired 70-year old man who decides to intern for Anne Hathaway, the founder of an online fashion site. Yes, the movie is touching and proves to us the whole “It’s never too late” theory. But honestly though, nothing caught my attention more than the masseuse they had at the office! Imagine getting that work document done, as a professional massages your back.
Slouching at our desks all day certainly has a negative impact on our back, spine, neck and even our mental health. Researches proved that sitting down at a desk all day can be worse than smoking, and sitting for extended periods is linked to chronic disease and wreaks havoc on your spine. While being tied to your computer all day may be inevitable, imagine having someone specifically for that.
Companies invest so much money on the human resource department to ensure that employees are satisfied; why not think outside the box? Wishfully speaking if I ever open my own business, I surely consider hiring a masseuse that comes at least once a week for my employees. I think a lot of people would go for a free massage over a free meal at work.
