Egypt to Raise Electricity Prices in July

The local press exposed that Mohamed Shaker, Minister of Electricity, informed the House Energy and Environment committee that the government is to proceed with its plan to increase electricity prices by next July.

A government official revealed that the state’s spending on subsidies is going to be cut to EGP 321 bn in 2019-2020 budget from EGP 332 in the present fiscal year.
