El Gouna Film Festival is approaching as one of the most anticipated events of the year. The hype around this year’s edition is tremendous! The festival’s success is based on the magnitude of the event, and the dedication and effort put in by the man of the hour, Samih Sawiris and his team.
This year’s edition is the third edition for the global stage that showcases culture, talent, and films for a passionate and knowledgeable audience. The festival will take place from September 19 to September 28, and it will hold a feature documentary competition, short film competition, feature narrative competition, CineGouna platform, and other special programs.
El Gouna founder and Chairman of Orascom Development, Samih Sawiris said, “hosting the third edition of GFF is proof of the festival’s success. In addition, the vast attendance of international figures in the field of cinema and arts is a positive indicator that Egypt is restoring its arts and culture glory days, and that Egypt is a safe tourism hub.”
The anticipation for this year’s edition is reaching new heights, as CEO of Orascom Development Holding, Khaled Bichara stated that hotel accommodations at El Gouna are 100% booked during the season of the event. Bichara added that this proves that the event’s plans are moving in the right direction, as the attention and appreciation of arts and tourism are increasing.
Orascom has been working collectively on transforming El Gouna into a global cultural hub, and they started working on the foundation of El Gouna Conference and Culture Center, which is expected to host the fourth edition of GFF in 2020.
