The music industry is one of the most competitive industries in the world, due to the high number of artists and the developing technologies. However, not many people were able to make a name for themselves due to listeners’ changing tastes and preferences.
NOVO, Merezz and Timmy The Nomad followed their instinct and passion taking the risk in the dynamic industry with the debut of their song “Little Bit“. It received remarkable engagement over social media, and gained over 20,000 views on YouTube in less than a month.
The trio have chosen English as their “rap language” since they are based overseas, and want to present a more diverse product to both their local and foreign communities. They worked on finding their own sound and being able to control and manipulate it. While writing a song could be easy, delivering the right notes with the perfect energy requires a lot of awareness and practice.
“Every track comes with a different aura or a message mostly driven by how I’m feeling at the time.. I always try to carry all my emotions to the studio and just let it out the way I feel would best express it, unless i’m just having fun or vibing to the beat,” Merezz told us.
Merezz doesn’t have a specific role model because he always tries to learn from the mistakes of those who inspire him. He believes that he is a bit of a critic when it comes to music, yet he is influenced by a lot of different artists, and his current favorites are Gunna, Nessly and M Huncho.
Although he has been receiving positive feedback after the track was released, he believes that it’s only a small step towards success, as he aspires to expand his fan base. The number of people he is able to reach and how they react to what he brings to the table is what defines his success.
Some would argue that an artist shouId try to focus on a certain genre or style, to maintain a solid ground. However Merezz believes he doesn’t “have a certain style or type as it gets boring, I am always discovering new sounds and other artists from different regions to work with, so expect some eccentric music productions soon!”
The diversity that the young artist is trying to achieve through his music worries him, as none of his upcoming tracks sound similar in any way, but he is thrilled to see how people will perceive it. “The world is evolving rapidly, and I have to invest in my music, to develop faster and become more aware on how to level up my game,” he said.
