The Red Sea is witnessing yet another exciting event this month at Makadi Heights, located in the heart of Makadi Bay, one of Orascom Development’s integrated towns in the Red Sea. The town is gearing up for the third round of Egypt’s Desert Rally Championship 2019 in collaboration with Bosla Egypt. Thirty teams will show off their skills in this round, taking place from the 12th to the 14th of December.

As thrilling as it sounds, bringing about a successful desert race means finding the perfect spot! Since, Makadi Heights, the fully integrated town by Orascom Development, has many prime amenities and has been described by some as ‘Always in Season’, it is just the right place for a grand sports event. Its prime location makes the weather just right all year round. It is beautifully set; overlooking the Red Sea coast, reaching 78 meters above sea level, which is Makadi Bay’s highest point.
The race with its drifts and breaks not only shifts people’s attention to the sport, but also promotes the Red Sea’s towns and brands them as well-equipped venues for sports competitions as well as holiday getaways. “Makadi Heights Rally 2019 is the first sports event to be held in the town. The organization of such event comes in line with the strategy of the Red Sea governorate to promote Hurghada as the destination of international sports events,” said Fady Alphonse, CEO of Makadi Heights and Byoum.

The last decade has witnessed the success of the rally across Egypt, as the people have been loving the energy-fueled vibes. Many entities have decided to help make this event possible this round including the Red Sea Governorate, the Egyptian Automobile and Touring club together with the Ministries of Defense, Interior, Tourism and Environment.
So, here is how it goes. The rally will be divided into two rounds, first of which will be taking place in Makadi Heights. This round is suitable for unmodified 4×4 cars. As for the second round, it will be held amidst the sands of the Eastern Desert for rally cars (so only pros here). The Makadi Heights Rally 2019 is one of the global races that abides by the FIA (Federation Internationale de l’automobile) Guidelines for safety, security requirements, so don’t worry about that!

If you haven’t done that yet, on-ground registration will be on the 12th of December at Makadi Heights Mall. The event will run during the following couple of days starting with the 4×4 challenge, a race and a showcase of participants’ cars on the 13th ending the day with entertaining acts inside Makadi Heights.
The 300km off-road rally will be on the 14th, followed by a big celebration to announce the lucky winners of this round at Makadi Heights Mall.
