As an attempt to stop the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), Egypt’s Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly has announced a night curfew from 7pm to 6am for the next 15 days.
These strict measures come alongside stopping public and private transportation from 7pm to 6am too.
All the rules stated by PM Mostafa Madbouly are as follows:
1) Night curfew from 7pm to 6am daily
2) Public and Private transportation will be halted from 7pm to 6am daily
3) All shops and malls will close from 5pm to 6am daily
4) Friday and Saturday are going to be a total shutdown
5) All cafes, restaurants and places that offer entertainment will shut down completely for the duration of two weeks. However, delivery is permitted.
6) All public sector services are shutting down excluding the health services. The only operating state services are for issuing birth and death certificates.
7) All sports clubs and youth centers are shutting down for the duration of two weeks.
8) Schools and universities are going to have an extended 15 days.
It is important to note that not following the newly placed laws during this crisis may result in severe punishment ranging from fines to jail time and that these rules don’t apply to hospitals and medical centers.
