The Israeli government’s airstrikes on Gaza murdered hundreds of Palestinian civilians. And many of them are women and children. Before the airstrikes began, Israeli forces kicked out many Palestinian families living in East Jerusalem’s Sheikh Jarrah from their homes, and no one has stopped them yet! You can find out more about why this savagery is prohibited under international law by clicking on this entry from the United Nation’s official website.
They need our help desperately, and the situation is only getting worse…
Here are some ways you could donate to credible and trustworthy organizations helping the people suffering through this crisis:
Donate to the Palestine Red Crescent Society
Established in 1968, the Palestine Red Crescent Society is a humanitarian organization that provides hospitals, emergency medicine, ambulance services, and primary health care centers in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, while its headquarters are in Ramallah, near Jerusalem. It’s part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

Donate to the Egyptian Red Crescent
Egypt just announced that it will open the Rafah border crossing (which is normally closed during the Eid holidays) starting this Saturday, May 15, to help wounded Palestinians in the Gaza Strip get medical attention. The Egyptian Red Crescent has sent medical supplies to North Sinai to help Palestinian civilians and Egyptian hospitals in Sinai announced a few days ago that they’re ready to receive the wounded of Gaza.
So, supporting the Egyptian Red Crescent would certainly help as well.
You can head to their ‘Donate‘ page to help out now. Otherwise, you could send a text to 9770, or call 15322 so you could transfer to their Banque du Caire account.
#SaveSheikhJarrah
As we mentioned at the introduction of this article, the forced evictions of Palestinian families from Sheikh Jarrah is prohibited under international law but the whole world isn’t doing anything about it. If you can, pressure your government to try and voice their objection to this, and perhaps impose sanctions on Israel.
If this isn’t an option for you where you live, you could sign this petition, share it, and raise awareness on this violation of human rights on your social media.
To diversify our media diet, and make sure major media outlets aren’t serving us a distorted version of reality, following the people listed below is recommended…
They’re all writers, journalists, scholars, and activists that could help us see a clearer truth.
