A Quick Brief
The 2022 World Cup qualifying round on the African continent consists of three rounds. The first round features the bottom 28 teams. Each consisting of two home-and-away matches between the two teams and eliminating the loser.
Forty teams work on qualifying from the second round, and qualifying teams join from the first round. Round 3, like Round 1, is a knockout round where all other teams must play, yet win with the total score achieved in both the home and away matches, then qualify for the 2022 World Cup.
