US Climate Envoy John Kerry is in Cairo for the second edition of the Egyptian International Cooperation Forum (Egypt – ICF),
which will be held at the Al-Massa Convention Center in the New Administrative Capital until next Friday.
Kerry stated, in the presence of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, during a speech at the Egypt Forum for International Cooperation and Development Finance in the new administrative capital,
that “Egypt is the mother of the world, and Sharm el-Sheikh may restore our senses and help us find solutions to climate change,” revealing that climate change affects 18 African countries.
It is worth noting that the objectives of the Egypt Forum for International Cooperation and Development Finance are consistent with the main goal of the COP27 climate summit in Egypt,
which is to move the international community’s efforts from the stage of pledges to the stage of implementation. In this regard,
Egypt-ICF2022 establishes three main goals: mobilising resources and facilitating access to finance,
financing the climate change mitigation and adaptation agenda, and discussing national efforts and measures.
