In 2023, Egypt experienced a notable increase in its share of global tourism, with a growth of 33%. By the end of that year, Egypt’s share reached 1.2% of the global tourism market, compared to 0.9% in 2019. The number of incoming tourists also reached a new record of 14.9 million in 2023, surpassing the previous record of 14.7 million set in 2010.
The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has set a target of attracting 30 million incoming tourists by 2028, aiming to attract new investments from the private sector to achieve this objective.
