Nadine Abdel Ghaffar Opens “Forever is Now 4” Exhibition at the Giza Pyramids

The official opening of the fourth edition of the “Forever is Now” exhibition at the Pyramids Plateau has commenced. Since the early hours of Thursday, October 24, the Pyramids Plateau has welcomed visitors and guests from around the world for this exhibition, held under the auspices of the Egyptian Ministries of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, and Foreign Affairs, along with the Tourism Promotion Authority and the patronage of UNESCO.

This exhibition brings together 12 renowned visual artists from Egypt and various countries around the world. It is considered the first of its kind, where artists engage artistically with one of the oldest historical landmarks to present contemporary artworks that blend the present with the past, while simultaneously reflecting on history, land, environment, and humanity.

The opening of this edition was limited to a tour for journalists and media representatives from various local, regional, and international outlets, allowing them to closely observe the artworks and convey them to the public with integrity. During the tour, participating artists provided detailed explanations of their contemporary art and large sculptural installations.

“Forever is Now 4” showcases a rich cultural diversity, featuring artists from the UK, Italy, South Korea, South Africa, Belgium, Lebanon, France, Egypt, India, Greece, Spain, and Canada, each contributing their unique narrative to this exceptional artistic dialogue.

The Giza Pyramids, one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world, serve not only as a backdrop but as an integral part of the artistic experience, where ancient history meets modern innovation. Chris Levine (United Kingdom), Federica Di Carlo (Italy), Ik-Joong Kang (South Korea), Jake Michael Singer (South Africa), Jean Boghossian (Belgium/Lebanon), Jean-Marie Appriou (France), Khaled Zaki (Egypt), Luca Boffi (Italy), Marie Khouri (Canada/Lebanon), Shilo Shiv Suleman (India), STUDIO INI by Nassia Inglessis (Greece), and Xavier Mascaro (Spain/Latin America) all contribute, enriching the exhibition’s cultural and artistic diversity. This gives the audience a chance to become “modern archaeologists,” exploring hidden treasures and creations that link the past to the present.

Nadine Abdel Ghaffar, founder of “CulturVator by Art D’Égypte,” stated, “The exhibition forms an artistic bridge between Egypt and the rest of the world, bringing together artists from various cultures and perspectives. Its unique location at the Giza Pyramids, one of the wonders of the ancient world, attracts international attention and enhances Egypt’s status as a global cultural hub. The exhibition contributes to opening a global dialogue about heritage and modernity and invites the exchange of artistic ideas and experiences.

What also distinguishes the exhibition is that it has become well-established in the minds of people internationally, with visitors from around the world beginning to book their flights early to ensure their presence at this event in Egypt and to enjoy a unique and unforgettable artistic experience.”

She added, “The number of visitors in previous editions exceeded 800,000, including many schools and universities, reflecting the great turnout from various categories and cultural levels. These figures indicate that the exhibition has succeeded in becoming an international destination for art lovers, while enhancing Egypt’s role as a platform that bridges ancient heritage and contemporary creativity.

This year, the exhibition invites exploration by encouraging the audience to interact with the artworks in a different way, so that visitors themselves become like modern archaeologists.

The exhibition aims to change visitors’ perspectives on familiar places and motivate them to reconsider symbols and traditions in a new light, as if they are embarking on a contemporary archaeological journey to search for hidden meanings in every artwork. In this fourth edition, the exhibition offers an exceptional experience by focusing on artistic creativity using modern technology, including artificial intelligence.”

Regarding the selection process for the artworks, Nadine added, “The selection of artists is done through a precise evaluation process based on the alignment of their vision with the exhibition’s core idea, which focuses on blending the past and present.

Artists who present creativity that reconsiders traditional ideas in a contemporary way, using diverse artistic media from sculpture and painting to modern technologies such as artificial intelligence, are invited. The emphasis is also placed on diverse voices from different continents to enrich the global artistic dialogue.”
