5 Inspirational Artists at Egypt Int’l Art Fair!

A couple of days ago, we had the opportunity to witness the launch of the third edition of the famous leading International Contemporary Art Fair. The Egypt Int’l Art Fair assembled several Arab artists, who took their drawings all the way to impress us!

Here are the 5 Arab artists that really caught our attention:

Shrouq Bnt Fahad

Stepping into the art field is not an easy thing. Then what happens when this gets accompanied by a Saudi Arabian background? Shrouq discovered her passion for arts earlier in age, which paved her way into the art scene through a continuous enrolment for portrait and art therapy courses.

She started her exhibition participation in 2001 in Dubai, Kuwait, Italy, and the UK. Footnote that Embassy of Germany in Saudi hosted her most recent exhibition titled: The Contemporary Saudi Art.

Hani Mahfouz

By the dazzling shore of Alexandria, a man discovered his artistic talent!

Hani Mahfouz is one of the top artists with significant participation in the Egypt Int’l Art Fair. He graduated from the Faculty of Arts and experienced his path as a graphic, industrial and fashion designer. Also, he held his first solo exhibition in 1994, established his design studio in 1997, to be one of the few artists who managed to print their name in collaboration with international brands.

Mohannad Orabi

With a background from Damascus, he paved his way in the art scene!

Mohannad Orabi, is the Syrian artist with the most gigantic exhibition participation around the world. His participation exceeded 20 exhibitions. On top of his accomplishments, he won the first prize in the Syrian National Young Artists Exhibition in 2006, as well as being listed among the Foreign Policy’s 100 Leading Global thinkers in 2014.

Wadhah Mahdi

Iraqi artists never cease to impress, and Wadhah was on the top of our list.

He held two solo exhibitions and participated in 30 group exhibitions both locally and internationally. He left Iraq in 2005, yet his artistic style remained influenced by the cultural aspects of Iraq. Additionally, he joined the Iraqi Artists Association and the Society of Plastic Iraqis. Wadhah received several awards, highlighted with the Saudi Center for Fina awards, in addition to the certificates of Appreciation from the US, Syria, and Egypt.

Dena Mattar

When “Palestine” comes to mind, we surely know that something inspirational is coming our way!

Meet Dena, a lecturer, and an ex-student of Al-Aqsa University. She started her career path in 2007 and graved her name among the artists of Palestine day by day. She collaborated with various international projects, and workshops and carried out eight solo exhibitions.

Her artwork describes life in Gaza post-war, inspired by the city’s reality and the prominence of the natural elements in her drawings…

Art is always a safe haven for those who grew up with not enough space for creativity and experiment. Amidst extreme conditions and circumstances, these talented artists managed to leave their footprint among ranking artists of the world. Here’s to many more meaningful artists blossoming from the Arab world!
