To strengthen consumer rights and improve access to services, the Consumer Protection Agency has launched the “Consumer Protection App” as part of its “Regulated E-Commerce Initiative.”
The app, introduced by Ibrahim El-Segini, the Agency’s head, during a press conference on Sunday, aims to simplify the process for citizens to file complaints, submit reports, and access various services offered by the Agency.
Key features of the app include the ability to easily lodge complaints, track case statuses, and stay updated on product recalls. It also provides consumer alerts, access to digital services, and guidance on market rules.
Additionally, the app offers a directory of trusted after-sales service centers for products such as cars and electronics, advice on smart shopping and e-commerce, and information on unsafe products and recalls, ensuring consumer protection and fostering trust.
The launch of the app coincides with the start of the “Regulated E-Commerce Initiative,” which aims to streamline and regulate e-commerce in Egypt. The Agency views the app as a significant step toward digital transformation, supporting the government’s vision of a more connected and efficient nation.
