Egypt’s entrepreneurs, businesses, investors and basically everyone who speaks fluent startup language are getting ready for this year’s RiseUp, the MENA region’s largest innovation and entrepreneurship summit taking place in the heart of Downtown Cairo; The GrEEk Campus.
For anyone that doesn’t know what RiseUp is or pretends that they do, click here for a quick crash course. If you are, however, well-versed and acquainted with the mammoth affair, here’s everything you need to know about 2018’s edition.
This year’s theme is “Grounded Experiences” so get ready to aim high and stay grounded

RiseUp Summit will not be following in the steps of their last summits and are opting for a much more grounded experience this year. “Grounded Experiences are about being in tune with the needs, obstacles, and opportunities within our reach. It is about shooting for the stars whilst remaining realistically ground-headed and rooted within our own locales, networks, and communities,” they tell us. “This year, we’re embracing our failures. We’re demystifying the heroic aura around success, creativity, and entrepreneurship, and expanding upon the failures and turbulent journeys we’ve had.”
There will be three track stages: Creative, Capital, and Tech

From international and regional influential investors, to hotshot CEOs, successful entrepreneurs and everyone in between; #RiseUp18’s line-up of speakers will be there to talk to you and share their expertise and knowledge. The Creative stage will cover topics such as film, design and content creation; the Capital stage will discuss things such as know-hows of investment and debt financing; the Tech stage will delve deep into subjects such as artificial intelligence and Big Data.

For this year, RiseUp Summit is going back to the roots, to remind us to keep both feet on the ground. This is exactly why they’ve chosen the route of not just having a killer line-up with popular names, but a much more grounded line-up that also happens to very beneficial to everyone.

To capitalize on this year’s theme, #RiseUp18’s workshops will also follow the same path. Meaning, you can expect to see workshops such as Meet Me Where Strategy and Creativity Intersect by Mohamed El Dib, and Fashion Business 101 by Claire Seffeen where their directions are more about simplifying everything and transferring knowledge.
