Yes I’m a Designer but I’m Also a Versatile Chameleon

Artists, we are so misunderstood. I would like to take this chance to talk about my field of study, Applied Arts. Let’s get one thing straight, if you tell me to, “draw me like one of your french girls” I’m never going to find it funny. It never was, and it never will be. I don’t draw, I create. Creating something means to add something new to the world that people have never seen before, and I have to do it at least five times a day. Being underestimated has its pros and cons, it makes me work even harder to prove to people that not everyone can do what we do. Creative people have multiple talents, we are the hustlers who do a little bit of everything.

Being in a creative field has given me so much versatility. I’ve become skilled at digital design, fashion, photography, painting, drawing, writing, and packaging. I’ve been able to incorporate my skills into multiple hobbies that stimulate my creativity. I’m a student, freelance graphic designer with a part-time job, and a co-founder of a fashion brand. In my free time, I’m a painter and a photographer.

Its like they say, love what you do and you’ll never have to work a day in your life. I love what I do, but that doesn’t make it any easier. I work hard to prove to people that my future is just as bright as the engineers and the businessmen of the world. Artists are currently rising and manifesting themselves to the world to show people the beauty and the art behind the buildings and four walls we keep ourselves in. We get inspired by other peoples art, the faces we see everyday, and the personalities around us. When someone asks me what I do for a living, I can tell them with my head held high that I am an artist. I am one of those people who work hard to visualize the things that you can’t explain.

But it’s okay if you judge me, I’m proud of who I am and I know how hard I work, and no one is going to tell me otherwise.
