Everything You Need to Know About This Year’s 5th Annual CSR Conference

Throughout the past couple of years, the Egyptian CSR scene has gone through a drastic positive ascent. With a considerable number of partnerships amongst giant entities, discernible social and economic tribulations such as poverty, poor education, gender inequality, and others have started to gradually decline in severity. However, there is no doubt that there is still a lot of necessary effort needed, in order to see actual tangible change and this is exactly what the Annual CSR Conference sustainably brings to the table.

The Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI) is organizing an immense conference alongside ALEXBANK, the British Council, Professional Development Foundation (PDF) and Sawiris Foundation for Social Development (SFSD), to shed light on the enormity of conjoint responsibility towards CSR and the rise of regional partnerships in development. Taking place on the 15thand 16th of April 2019, the conference will be held at Marriot Zamalek, ready to cut the ice and pave ways to make change possible.

Dr. El Sayed Torky, Senior Advisor at the Federation of Egyptian Industries, expressed his exhilaration for the awaited conference, asserting that:”The Egyptian Federation of Industries have faith that initiatives such as this CSR Conference, will pave the way for a stronger social welfare system, social justice, human development and job opportunities for marginalized communities in Egypt. We’re all dedicated to creating a better future for this country by raising employment rates, creating new job opportunities for the youth, supporting entrepreneurship and encouraging small and medium enterprises to thrive.”

The conference is set up to send a clear message: Partnerships are no longer an ‘option’ in the development process, they are a must. A single organization, on its own, cannot by any means cope with an entire set of challenges facing any country. Public and private organizations and NGOs need to work together to become successful drivers of change. However, it is important to fully grasp that building partnerships, takes a lot of time and effort to establish relationships based on mutual trust and understanding.

So, what exactly should you be expecting from this year’s conference?

On the first day, the conference will kick off with a ministerial round-table table, discoursing the mechanism of creating synergy between governmental, private and public entities in order to create sustainable regional and local partnerships. The talk will focus on ways of redirecting the notion of CSR and its rightful implementation in improving development and competitiveness in Egypt and Africa.

Subsequently, through six intensive mind-expanding panels, the conference will center the magnifying glass on current issues holding back the headway of education, poverty, gender equality, training for employment, empowering women and youth, entrepreneurship, and innovation & creativity.

Attendees will also get the opportunity to engage in discussions that revolve around exposing the in-depth obstacles confronting the successful institutionalization of CSR partnerships, as well as the viable solutions of these challenges and their repercussions.

Dedicated to making this an exclusive and impactful conference, the organizers will be hosting big African organizations, to exchange their experience with CSR as a catalyst for development in Africa and explore the potential possibility of partnering with Egypt and refining its CSR.

On the 16th a Matchmaking forum will be held, where organizations and NGO’s with setup initiatives looking for potential partners will showcase their plans on improving development, capacity development, employment, education, health, and environment. Participants will include SMEs, entrepreneurs, multinationals, universities, youth, government, NGOs, CSR trainers and consultants, business associations, international organizations, and CSR foundations.

Look out for another year of innovative change and progression.
