StartEgypt Forum 2019

45 Startups Are Set To Exhibit At StartEgypt Forum 2020

StartEgypt are graduating 45 social impact startups from all over Egypt in the StartEgypt 2020 Forum. This comes after an incubation program that provided training, coaching by industry leaders and educational mentorship over four months was run.

The forum is powered by Flat6Labs, and will be held at The Greek Campus, on January 29.

Graduating startups will get the opportunity to showcase their businesses to leading business professionals, mentors, coaches, and investors. Also, they will be able to expand their networking through business connections, which will help them take their ideas to an even more advanced level.

The annual showcase event is in its second edition, and this year’s edition comes after the 2019 program, which has expanded to Assiut and Alexandria. The program launched in Cairo, in 2017, with the first cycle starting in June 2018. However, after their launch in Cairo, StartEgypt recognized the potential that entrepreneurs in non-centralized cities had, and this was the main reason behind their expansion motive.

11 startups will compete in a pitch competition to present their ideas in front of a judging panel, and the top five startups will gain a share from the mouth-watering EGP 200,000 prize pool.

These 11 startups operate with different technologies in diverse industries, tackling important sectors like education, agriculture, environment, healthcare, transportation, and marginalized communities. The eleven social impact startups are Smart Farm, Shetla, Mycelium, Hadotopia, Banlastic, Mashro3i, Pyro, Ero, Biofeedx, Naql Misr and i-Sew.

StartEgypt Program is funded by the United Kingdom’s Department for International Development (DFID), supported by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, and along with the pre-acceleration incubation program, Flat6Labs, they aim to inspire and support thousands of Egyptian entrepreneurs in the field of social impact enterprises.
