Did you ever feel you missed a job opportunity because you weren’t fit for it? Maybe it isn’t nepotism or luck, maybe it just isn’t you. In modern day societies, if you don’t have the required mindset and skills, you probably won’t get anywhere, as these tools are one of the highly demanded aspects that employers look for. This is why The Growth Formula organisation aims to help it’s members learn and acquire the needed skills, in order to develop themselves.
Many people graduate from university but most of them do not work in the field they graduated from, and if they managed to do so, many educational curricula do not provide the modern techniques to prepare students for immediate hiring after graduation. This why the organisation believes they should be updated with job market needs and provide modernized approaches to deliver required learning for new updated skills.
What is The Growth Formula?
The Growth Formula seeks to provide top notch expert-led learning experience for young professionals and entrepreneurs for an affordable budget, by raising awareness about the importance of personal development, the importance of expert-led learning and the job market-fit concept.
“We aim to make learning a critical part of our economic development path and hopefully to become a critical player in alleviating unemployment in the Arab world by 2030. We collect experts from around the globe, we verify their credentials, partner with them to provide subsidized hours and we provide a mix of an online/offline learning experience that enriches our future leaders’ knowledge, but with a budget,” the Growth Formula founder, Heba Assem said.
She added without job training, education is lost and experience without correct learning can be a bit distorted with the background of those who lead the experience with the learner, and it becomes limited with the amount of resources they have. This is why Assem believes that acquiring skills through experience and education is needed to be able to fully serve a person’s development tracks.
TGF Cairo Edition
TGF Cairo Edition was held in November, at the Greek Campus, where they raised awareness about the significance of the job market-fit concept and expert-led learning as a way to bridge the gap between the job market needs and current skill set. In addition, they introduced all business sectors to each other, so they can explore collaboration opportunities and further learning.
Assem stated, “Anything that is done to help people know more and get exposed to new experiences is beneficial, but of course it depends on the purpose of every single person from attending, so if you want to benefit then you definitely will.”
TGF provides global standard learning experiences with renowned experts, but on budget to allow everyone to participate and learn. They also mix online and offline experiences through partnership with lots of credible sources of online knowledge. The organisation does their market research for the topics that their target audience need to know. Then they start laying out the content agenda and put a draft for what it should look like, then they pick experts for each topic.
“Our pricing counts on becoming affordable for the average professional or entrepreneur. Of course it depends on the type of content, the instructors themselves and our capability of getting a bigger subsidized share, so the learning can be as affordable as possible,” Assem explained.
Online learning is very important for people who do not have enough time for offline class rooms. Yet Assem’s advice is to look into the background of any instructor before starting the course so you make sure this person possesses a reliable track record and has good experience and not just some good advertiser who made you find them online.
“I believe anyone who is willing to learn and has the passion for the job will be good if they continue learning, they are open to comments and take criticism as a positive note and are able to develop themselves based on the job market needs, not what the community sees in them,” she noted.
