Catholic Center Film Festival Concludes 67th Edition, A.B. Shawky Stands Out

The 67th edition of the Catholic Center Film Festival was just concluded. Last Friday, on the 15th of February, the awards were handed down.

Ahmed el Fishawy won Best Actor for “Eyar Nary” (Gunshot), Abu Bakr Shawky scored both Best Screenwriter and Best Director for Yomeddine, his debut which gradually transformed into an international hit. The movie is about a Nubian and a leper on a road trip in search for the latter’s family.

What’s more, Horreya Faraghaly won Best Actress for Tale’ Senay” (Induced Labor). And Yousry Nasrallah, the famed Egyptian director, while Tarek el Shenawy, the formidable critic, received the Artistic Creativity awards.
