WEF Brings Women Front and Center to Lead and Excel

The Women Economic Forum (WEF) is two days away, taking place from March 4 to 9 in Cairo, Egypt. WEF is focused on encouraging conversation and creating a community to support women on a global level. This is what the Founder of the All Ladies League (ALL) and WEF, Harbeen Arora, refers to as ‘sisterhood’ and the economic power of women.

Brought by The Worx, an event management consultancy that prides itself in being women-led, WEF is bringing a global platform and almost 600 international and national attendees to Egypt, under the auspices of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and with the support of the National Council for Women.

“It is the first time for the WEF annual to be held outside India, and to be under the auspices of a president, so we wanted this edition to be absolutely unique! We aimed to bring an inspiring lineup of speakers that includes Egyptian and International experts, as well as bringing initiatives that empower women,” Nemaat Khalil, managing director at The Worx told 925Egypt.

The first two days of the event: March 4 and 5 will be taking place at the Nile Ritz Carlton hotel with a numerous amount sessions tackling different topics all across. From March 6 to 9, there will be tours around Egypt going to the Great Pyramids of Giza, the Egyptian museums, churches, mosques and synagogues. The tour also includes heading to shopping destinations and the Nile River before spending the last day in Alexandria.

The list of topics and discussions during this event are almost endless ranging from closing the gender gap, women in science, women in entrepreneurship to art, self care and mental health issues.

Amongst the confirmed figures, who have over the years proved to be successful, hardworking women in top-ranked governmental positions, are H.E Dr. Rania El Mashat, the minister of International Cooperation of Egypt, H.E Dr. Hala El Saeed, the Minister of Planning, Monitoring and Administrative Reform, H.E Dr. Yasmine Fouad, the Minister of Environment, H.E. Dr. Nabila Makram, the Minister of Immingration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, H.E Dr. Nevine Gamea, the Minister of Commerce and Industry.

There are also other empowering women across various fields who will be attending. This includes, but is not limited to, Dr. Jehan Sadat, Lamees El-Hadidi, Dr. Azza Fahmy and Dr. Anissa Hassouna.
