The Government Postpones The Increase In Electricity Bills For The Third Time

Electricity Prices

The government has delayed the increase in electricity prices for the third time in order to ease the financial burden on citizens.

According to the government’s six-year roadmap, which aims to structure electricity prices by 2025,

residential electricity bills were supposed to rise by up to 21% on the first of July.

President El-Sisi additionally stated that over 17 million families continue to pay “subsidised” electricity tariffs,

that are approximately 50% less than their monthly electricity consumption expenditures.
