Egypt to export locally-made insulin to 11 African countries

Egyptian made insulin is being prepared to be shipped after the Ministry of Health and Population signed off on  exportation deals. Egyptian medicine will reach 11 African countries. The ministry will also send off more Egyptian made medicines to be marketed in South Africa.

The target is to increase Egyptian-African medicine exports to 30%. The ministry is keen on exporting medicine only when there’s no shortage in medicine locally. Shortage in medicine, especially insulin, can result in many chronic diseases. The ministry is also working on providing access to 1000 important medicines that are needed locally.
