Looking For A Free Co-working Space For Your ICT Startup? Here’s How You Can Get One

Having an office in the midst of a thriving technology and business park can seem like a far-fetched dream for tech entrepreneurs and mobile developers starting out. But the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC) can offer your startup a free co-working space with high-speed WiFi in the heart of Egypt’s busy Smart Village as long as the startup’s work falls under the umbrella of Information and Communications Technology (ICT).

The TIEC falls under the leadership of the ITIDA (Information Technology Industry Development Agency) – one of the affiliates of the Egyptian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. Their programs and sessions aim to turn business plans or prototypes into startups, incubate and accelerate early-stage startups, and even turn students into tech entrepreneurs.

But whether your startup has graduated from one of their programs or not, you can still apply for their free co-working space. And if your startup is accepted, you have free access to the space and its high-speed internet. Naturally, as well, this space will provide you with networking opportunities with your peers who share the space and work within the ICT sector as well. “We also provide free transportation from a variety of pick-up and drop-off points,” explained Maryam Khalil, the co-working space’s coordinator and one of the senior incubation specialists at TIEC.

”We realize the significant effect of successful startups in the area of ICT on Egypt’s economic growth,” added Khalil. “That’s why we want to provide as many budding startups as possible with everything they require to make it in this industry. And this includes offering them a place to set up for free basically at a stage when they still don’t have the budget to have their own office.”
