Today, we celebrate Women’s International Day, in a way of honoring the women around the world. Those who amazed the world with their stories, and paved the way for other women to dream and achieve!
We got you a list of 7 women who inspired the world with their distinct successful stories:
1- Marianne Khoury
Director and Producer. . . yet Marianne is officially a graduate of economics from Cairo and Oxford Universities. She worked on controversial issues such as identity and social exclusion. She received the award of France’s Legion of Honor, in the degree of Chevalier (Knight), handed in person by the ambassador of France to Egypt.
Additionally, she occupied the position of managing partner at the Cairo-based Misr International Films, along with being the co-founder of the Panorama of the European Film.
2- Nadine Ashraf
It all began with a story of sexual harassment. It went viral on social media, got deleted after few minutes but graved in the young activist’s mind. Nadine created the account of Assault Police to be anonymously managed . But the world needed to discover who is the idol behind it.
One of the biggest cases in which the account took the lead in, was the Fairmont case. Got threatened and pressured to shut her accounts, but it all turned to motivate her to be stronger. Assault police is now the main outlet to women’s voice. Also, it has a leading role in educating the public and investing in their awareness.
Nadine is one of the best 100 women, according to BBC’s listing.
3- Dr. Hend El Sherbine
Prof. Dr. Hend El Sherbini is a professor of clinical pathology at the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University. She received her master in Clinical and Chemical pathology. Also, she had her PhD in Immunology from Cairo University. Dr Hend has been the CEO of Integrated Diagnostics Holdings (IDH). This came since 2012 after the merger of Al Mokhtabar and Al Borg Laboratories. Further, IDH is now the African leading consumer healthcare company.
4- Reem Asaad
A highly successful leader for almost 25 years, Reem experienced the industries of technology, customer experience and financial services. On the top of her long successful list, she was the CEO at Raya Customer Experience. Moreover, She got recognized by Forbes as one of the Most Influential Women in Middle East.
5- Feryal Ashraf Abdelaziz
A pharmacist by certificate, a champion by heart!
Ferial was born in 1999.By the age of seven, her life to floated on the karate’s surface.
In 2019, she represented Egypt at the African Games held in Rabat, Morocco, and won a silver medal. In June 2021, she received her official qualification at the World Olympic Qualification Tournament held in Paris, then her enrollment at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. Feryal succeeded in being the first Egyptian female to win a gold medal at the Olympics. Her athletic trip is still in progress, yet she proved how women own a superpower in the sports field.
6- Fatma Said
A fourteen year’s old girl taking her first singing music turned out to be the Soprano of the year!.
After accumulating a Bachelor of Music degree from the Hans Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin in 2013, Fatma obtained a scholarship to study at the Academia del Teatro Alascara in Milan, to become the first Egyptian soprano to perform on this stage. She represented Egypt on Human Rights Day in 2014. Followed by the 2018 celebration at the United Nations in Geneva and in 2017 at the Luxor Temple. Success didn’t stop here!
She evolved to be the first Egyptian opera singer ever to be awarded the state’s Creativity Award, for her extraordinary artistic achievement on a global level. She newly acquired two BBC Music Magazine Awards in the categories “Newcomer” and “Vocal”.
Also, Fatma is an ambassador for Opera for Peace, backed by the stART academy of Bayer Kultur.
7- Dalia Mogahed
Dalia Mogahed is the Director of Research at the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding. She rules the pioneering research of the organization. She was the one who invested with her passion in the leadership programs on American Muslims. Uniquely, she co-authored the book Who Speaks for Islam? What a Billion Muslims Think. Also, she got appointed by the former President Barack Obama to the President Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships in 2009.
