Every week, we discover many Egyptians who are achieving global and local achievements that make us all proud of them; as a result, we’d like to share some of these Egyptians with you.
Mai El-Ibrashi
Engineer Mai El-Ibrashi earned the Dutch Prince Claus Award, which is given every two years to six pioneering individuals who have inspired their local communities through inspiring creative works. They were chosen from a pool of 94 candidates from all over the world.
Mai El-Ibrashi is an Egyptian architect whose work focuses on community participation through heritage preservation, rehabilitation, preservation and redefinition. Through her work she has been able to make a real difference within the often marginalized communities that live in the center of Historic Cairo
It is worth noting that it is also the founder of the Megawra team, an engineering office and a civil society at the same time, concerned with architectural heritage, as well as aiming to involve the local community in restoration processes, and to hold practical and theoretical workshops in many matters related to the development of the urban environment.
Samar Hamza
Samar Hamza became Egypt’s first female wrestler to win a silver medal in the World Championships final in Serbia.
It should be noted that Samar Hamza was the only Egyptian to compete in the tournament, which began on September 10 and will end on September 18.
Ali Ali
Ali Ali, a film and commercial director, is one of the world’s top ten most-awarded directors. His directorial debut, “Never Say No to Panda,” received a Gold Lion at Cannes and more than 90 million views on YouTube, making it one of the most viewed campaigns of all time.
This year’s Cannes Global Rankings list places director Ali Ali as the fifth best commercial director in the world.
Hana Goda
Hana Goda keeps making history by becoming the world’s top under-19-year-old table tennis player.
Hana currently holds the top rankings in the under-15, under-17, and under-19 age groups.
