Womenswear: 8 Outfits You Need for Every Office Occasion

When it comes to fashion, I’m basic AF. I’m not into anything extra, I just like looking put together and laid back. I go hard on my face and my glam game is on point but I keep the rest pretty simple. This is a quick guide for the girls who never really know what to wear around the office or to work-related happenings.

Slaying your job interview

You should choose clothes that make you feel comfortable and confident. Avoid anything that you’d have to tug, pull at or tie; it’s distracting and annoying. Try to avoid revealing clothing, noisy accessories and anything that doesn’t properly fit. Check for stains and pet hair (I have two cats, it’s nasty.) Make sure your outfit is cleaned and ready the night before your interview.

Meeting a client

Look the part, after all you are handling their business. Avoid wearing denim, tennis shoes, and cotton t-shirts. Instead, opt for silk pants, dress pants, or a skirt. An appropriate looking dress and flats are options as well.

Asking for a raise

In addition to having an honest and open conversation with your manager, dress for what you deserve!

When you’re late AF

If you’re already late you might as well come into the office looking good. Ditch the messy hair and crinkled clothes taken off of the couch for something a little more put together (make sure you sashay in with the Starbucks drink that made you late.)

When you’re giving a presentation

All eyes on you, hennnyyyyy. Get your hair done, wear something extra and do you, booboo.

Business luncheon woman

Wear something a little loose, I tend to go a little too strong at the open buffet.

When you’re feeling yourself

A little sassy, a little glam, a little too fab too give a damn. Werk it!

When it’s Casual Thursday

Getting ready for the weekend? I feel you, babe.

Mariam El Nakkadi

One simply does not mess with Mariam. Blessed with the glam of a Serena van der Woodsen and the wrath of a killer dog from a Stephen King novel, she -- again -- is not to be messed with. Her love for memes knows no boundaries and her passion for work, especially when she dons her working glasses, is astonishing as 925's Associate Editor.
