These 5 Apps Are Designed To Help You Get A Good Night’s Sleep

How long has it been since you had an uninterrupted smooth sleep? In the past period, I have noticed that a lot of people, including myself, find it very strenuous to maintain a stable sleeping pattern. Sleeping disorders could be a result of many aspects, but stress comes at the top of the list. By asking people in my circle, many told me that working too much to the “burn-out” extent, is the main reason behind their sleepless nights. So after finding out the commonality of the issue, I decided to test different methods to help me with my sleeping disorder, and here I am sharing them with you.

Before guiding you around the new apps that I found very convenient for people with sleeping disorders, there’s a small advice I believe is going to help you a lot. Make sure to set up your designated sleeping area in a way that is warm enough to put you in a sleepy mood. Tidy up your room and put everything in place, fill it to the brim with incandescent warm lights, and finally light up some scented candles to put your whole body at ease. After that you’ll be ready to get the final push from the following apps:

Calm

via wirecutter

Calm was selected by Iphone as the app of the year. Once you open the app, you’ll find a variety of programs that are designed to help you meditate and relax, whether at day time or before sleep. My favorite part is that Calm offers bed time stories for adults that will make you fall asleep like a congested rhino. All selected storytellers on Calm such as Stephen Fry, Anna Acton, Mathew MacConaughey and many others, have voices and ways of storytelling that are meant to transport you to another world. There’s also a music tab that incorporates tons of simmering down music, that will tranquilize every single cell of your body.

The app is initially free, but if you’re seeking 7 to 21-day programs that work on helping you get rid of anxiety, stress and bad self-esteem and instill in you happiness and gratitude; you’ll have to make a monthly payment.

Headspace

via Call me lore

Headspace gets you familiarized with the strategies used by the co-founder and former Tibetan Buddihst monk, Andy Puddicome. It brings you different meditation sessions that work on a specific goal, self-awarness. The app has 10 free sessions that help you relieve stress, and come in terms with your happiness, well-being, peace of mind and many more.

Relax & Sleep Well

via Microsoft

This app is unlike any other, it revolves around the science of hypnosis. Glenn Harrold is one of the top-notch hypnotherapists around the world, with around 20 years of experience in the field. In this app, Harrold combines his efficacious hypnosis strategies with the latest recording technology. Once you download the App, you’ll come across four unpaid hypnotherapy and meditation sessions, and over 80 program purchases that address stress, anxiety, insomnia, and sleeping disorders. What’s also different about Relax & Sleep Well is that it has background sound effects and certain sound frequencies that will put you in noticeable deep state of physical and mental composure.

Relax Melodies

via TechEngage

Relax Melodies works on enhancing your sleep by putting together calming sounds, breathing techniques, meditation tracks and bed time stories. Curbing your insomnia, the App provides you with more than 100 soothing sounds, melodies and talks. If you want more access to Relax Melodies content library, you can go for the in-app purchase option.

Sleep Time

via App Store

Sleep time features an approach that helps you monitor your sleep cycles, by analyzing your body movement using a specific algorithm. With mellow soundscapes, you’ll be able to fall asleep and wake up feeling refreshed. Part of the App’s edge, is you’ll be able to analyze every sleep round, with the sleep analysis feature. The app is free, and there are additional in-app purchases if you chose to have full access.

Nour Hossam

Nour is one of the most gregarious people you could ever come across. She literally loves everyone! She spends half of her life stuffing her face with food, and the other half trying to lose weight at the gym. Her shining example is Mulan because she would not hesitate to do anything for the people she loves. When she's not busy writing for 925 as a Staff Writer, you'll find her kitesurfing in Ras Sudr.
